My first plows for the 52' 8N. So I am curious if anyone could help with details and history info. Thanks

There are scrapers on the coulters and furrow wheel, if thats what its called. All bearings spin freely and don't wobble. coulters are nice condition. The moldboard has 2 piece on one but the other has 3 with a broken edge. They don't look like the shin, share and moldboard type that I've seen restored pics of here. The one front coulter has a chain to limit the swing i believe. There is old dirty faded red paint under both of these plows. I also haven't seen the 2 bolts on the back of the moldboard before either, what they are for ???

furrow wheel has a minor bend in it. the number 101500 with a diamond is on the back of the moldboard.

I kinda like the disc type, since its different. I'm gonna try them out for food plots.

The disc did have one broken piece/arm that held the scraper for the front disc.

The units both seem to have very pitted rusting going on. The disc is a bit deeper.

The disc did not have the dearborn tab on it. Don't know if I can find one of those. Or even need to. I guess know it'll be trial and error( probably lots of it) learning how to adjust these to run good. Ah but I think it'll be alot of fun.

i dont know much about the history on them but i can tell u from pass expeirence running both of these they or some good plows i really like the disc plows better because where i like u never know when u are going to find a stump or railroad iron. i know u can still get parts for the moldboard plow because i got some for a 3 bottom dearbon about 2 months ago and i am like 99% positive u can get parts for the disc plow

I had a plow like your Dearborn 10-158 plow. But - mine was a 10-156. The numbers on the tag may not mean much tho....as these plows came in bundled pieces and many configurations were assembled by dealers. Mine is "supposed" to be a 2x14" plow but in truth was a 2x16" plow. Do a search for ford or dearborn plows and you will find hours of reading on 'em.

You have a few too many pictures to want to glean all the information and make an assessment.....BUT.....Your plow looks to be in sorry shape. Looks to me like those plows were "rode hard and put away wet". Lots of rust, bent and otherwise buggered parts, make-do parts and more. Unless you are desperate for allot of work.....I would not spend allot of time restoring that candidate. If it plows....use it.....if it dont, its time for the scrap iron IMO.

Their are better plows out there. I don't know anything about your disc plow.

OK....after another look....maybe that was a little harsh. But there is allot of dark pics and lots of dirt and rust to try to see through and lots of bent parts to me.
