Hi all

I'm looking for some help with my 2014 LTX 1050. Replaced throttle cable in March but now binding so badly it bent the bracket where cable attaches.
Was able to get it moving again with WD-40 and straightened bracket. Carb linkage is fine.

Now next day it's bound up again.

What might cause this? Is it a known issue? The last throttle cable lasted 3 years.

Yes. They are terrible. Some peoples last forever, some couple seasons. Is the exhaust baking your cable? Would an exhaust shield help? Courage engine?

Yeah it’s the 24HP Kohler. I found a small melt spot on the jacket where it contacted the valve cover. So I’ll see if I can get it to stay above there and then down to the carb.

Thanks!

So if you have the leaky tin valve covers, there is a kit that replaces them with the composites. The bonus besides the no leaking, is the fact that it comes with a exhaust deflector.

Yeah - valve covers will be the post season project. Thx for the tip.
