front view of cart. note that the screened hole to the left is a mistake I made and covered with a screen. I realized the plastic flange needs to be dead center. This is the only mistake I had in building the cap for this cart.
ok. all folded up and a look from the inside. The door jam is mitered down the back side of the cart and goes all around the inside of the cart to serve as support for the screens.
this gives you a better look at the door jam and the tail gate and how the last screen drops in behind the tailgate. It also shows the 3/8" plywood is flush with the inside lower steel wall and the plywood sits flush on the steel lip of the cart. The brackets are rabbited into the edge of the plywood by 1/8" so that the plywood still sits flush on the steel lip. The bracket grabs the inside of the plywood and then on the outside it fastens down to the steel lip.
the screen frames are made out of 2x3's. Basically a groove was cut all around the middle inside of the frames to accept the 1/4 inch wire screen. The corners of the 2x3's are ship-lapped connected. There are also a few angles to the hinged edges of the screens so that it folds up.
