I had been looking at Kubota's until recently and after a trip last week to a Mahindra dealer was impressed with what you get for the price. I have about 50 questions but will just ask a couple of them right now. The dealer I visited had a 2216 gear, 2615 HST, and a 2816 gear in stock. Based simply on horsepower I went to look at the 2615. It seemed to be significantly more tractor than Kubota B2620. In fact it seemed by size to be more tractor than a B7800. I am not sure if I need this much tractor and thought maybe the 2516 would fit the bill just right. The saleslady said she isn't very familiar with them as they usually only stock the 2615 or the 2015. Although she could order one and get it in a week to 10 days. I have called 4 dealers and most of them have little or no inventory. None have any of these tractors except the dealer I visited. Is this normal? The Mahindra website says the size of the front tires diameter, but not the size of the rear, so I am not sure if 2516 and 2216 are really the same tire size. A couple delears said they were, a couple said they weren't. One delaer told me and I have read on this sight that they(2516/2216) are built on the same frame, but the Mahindra website says the 2415 is several inches longer and a little wider? To make things more confusing there is no brochure available for the 16 series tractor. I read it is just a slight hp increase and color change, but then the dealer I went to had a 2816 gear. The 2615 was hst only, so I am wondering if there are more differences than my less than super knowledgeable salespeople seem to know about.

The dealers I have spoken have given me roughly the same prices although 1 charges 50/hr labor and one 70/hr. Both have been tractor dealers for more than 20 years, Mahindra for more than 10 years.

2516hst-L 13.7-14k and 60 mo zero interest
2816hst-L 15-15.7k and 48 mo zero interest

I must say the Mahindra dealers seem much more interested in selling tractors than any of the Kubota people I have talked too.

Compare weight, physical dimentions, PTO HP, lift capacities and hydraulic pump GPM. Make sure the hyd pump output is just the implement pump and not a combined implement, powersteering pump figure.

Those units (2216,2516,2816) are the brand new models that are coming out, that is probably why very few dealers have them in stock yet. We only have the 2816 in stock so far.
