2555 Hst oil cooler issues, bypass update and advice
Someone already posted a great thread about replacing the oil cooler, but after going to the dealer I found out they have a note next to the part- they recommend a bypass kit because essentially they know the oil cooler is prone to blow under heavy operation. Unfortunately, the "insurance" against blowing out the cooler is actually more than the cooler itself. (Almost 300 for the cooler and 400 for the bypass kit). Dealer said the bypass is more of a pressure relief for the oil cooler. Does anyone have more information about the bypass kit? Any other alternatives?
