John Deere 4520 Cab
Looking at purchasing a John Deere 4520 cab to upgrade from 4120 Open Station. Is there any lighting on the right control panel while operating at night so we can efficiently see what buttons to operate, or does the dash provide enough light to see the right panel? Dealer does not have unit in stock to see. Any feedback on this tractor would be appreciated as well.

I got a 4720 cab last November and did a lot of snow removal, some at night and never had any problem seeing the controls.

Never had any problems seeing the side panel at night so far, only used it a few times though.

I think you will find the 4520 cab to be a nice improvement and a substancial increase in power. I have a 110 with the same power as the 4120 and can easily notice the difference myself.

We started thinking of going with the 4320 but I think it is definately worth the jump to 4520. Extra engine HP and PTO HP would sure help, especially if the AC has to be run. Our 4120 injection pump is turned up 10%-15%, but the extra stock horsepower would be nice. Having rode in larger ag tractors I thought it would be nice to have a red light shining down on the right control panel, with red being easy on the eyes at night. But if visibility is ok I'm all for it!

How's that done?

There is a a diesel specialist place close to where we live called Scheid diesel. You remove the injection pump from the tractor, take it to them & tell them you want it turned up 10 to 15. You are just increasing fuel pressure. Thats where you get your extra horsepower on the larer 4x20 series besides larger turbos. You can definately notice a difference vs stock.
