I used to be able to lift my tractors' front end with my snow blower. Without using the 2 ski's. the scraper edge would get down tight and really clean.
Now this year for some reason, the blower just rests on the driveway, it either needs Viagra or something is wrong...what did I do, or forget to do?

You don't have anymore down pressure. Never had that problem. Make sure all your quick couplings are snap in place. Do you have a fel and if so do you remember using the down pressure?

Are you pushing the lever too far and putting it in "float" position?

float -- toward the driver and toward the floor -- there is a slight resistance upon entering float

I think I might have figured it out....accidentally. Firstly it is not in float, good thought though. After I posed this question, I read about why does JD use special QC ends? My 2 hoses have been replaced by a machine shop, I bet that the ends are not JD ends. You are correct, no down pressure, I bet the ends must be changed to JD specific, or at least moved a bit. The FEL works fine......tomorrow we will know.

I am sorry to say I found the problem, I am either stupid or blind.
All hydraulic connections were OK, the problem was that the 2 lower L pins were not engaged/inserted....that are mounted on the snow blower and then extend into the black iron frame that mates the blower to the tractor. The blower was attached because the top was hanging on via gravity. Naturally when I tried to force down the blower, the 2 pins on the bottom were not doing their job and the entire black frame simply moved away from the tractor. Simply put the blower attached at 4 points, 2 on the top, and the 2 on the bottom via pins were not inserted.
Duh!
