While looking through craigslist I found an International 8 foot back blade for $300...I have an LS R4047, would an 8 foot be too much?

I use a HD Land Pride L3584,( 7 foot) behind my L3540 . Most use is for snow but occasionally for dirt and I have no issues in pulling or pushing it at all. What will your primary use be?

It's hard to turn a 7' blade into an 8'. Pretty easy the other way around, though.

The question is whether an 8' blade best fits your use situations?

If working in tight quarters there is a huge difference by adding that foot.

Last thing I'd worry about is whether the tractor would handle it.

Sounds like a good price if it's a solid blade in decent shape.

I was going to look at it today but got caught up in trying out the landscape rake I just bought. I hope to check it out this week.

You have a 47HP tractor?
Don't worry about pulling an 8' grading blade!
I have a 32HP tractor, and use a 7' grading blade.
Before you could bog your tractor down, the material would be spilling off one or both ends of your blade.
If you had an 8' box blade, and were pulling wet material, you could have an issue,.... but you do not, and are not!
For a cost comparison: I paid $609 delivered (internet buy) for a new King Kutter 7' (sliding) OFFSET blade a year ago.

I'm going tomorrow..just found out he has King Kutter box blade also. I'm taking the trailer and hoping for a package deal!

Careful on that box blade!
It could be too much for your tractor, depending on size.
Ask what HP tractor he used it with.
