Good evening all. This issue may be related to another thread I opened. Anyway the pedals on the JD have no tension at all. If I press the forward or reverse pedal it just depresses to the bottom of the range but doesn't return unless I push the opposite dpedal. Any ideas?

Check the spring return linkage under the right side of the tractor. It also activates the neutral switch which must be closed for the tractor to start.

The spring return arrangement came apart on my JD 4200 while in use. It was rather exciting for a few moments.

Fortunately it all went back together again very easily with no lost parts. :)

Wow, I've got the opposite problem on my 855. The pedals are sticky. I've got to really push one or another and I almost flipped on a hill the other day because the reverse wouldn't come out. Talk about a "puckering" moment. It's also, apparently the reason it didn't start the other day.
