Over the past several months I have purchased 5 of them, and looked at lots of others. I like the fact that their red color is somewhat close to my Mahindra red 2415. But obviously color is not the major consideration in an intelligent purchase.
I'm well pleased with my Howse equipment, so far. Remember, they offer an economy AND a heavy duty line in most cases. Their rough-cut (bush hog) and finish mowers have an excellent reputation. Perhaps not so on their post hole diggers and box blades?
Just today I brought home a brand new 5' disc harrow, in the lower priced economy line. It looks great, very strong, greaseable gangs, and believe me the notched blades are VERY sharp!
Some nice features on all Howse implements: durable powder coat paint, tough gearboxes, excellent parts diagrams and availability, wide range selection of equipment. On the negative side, often the data plate is very poorly riveted in place, and the model and serial number are barely legible (bad stamping).
They are made in Mississippi, I think. Recent increases in fuel and transportation costs are changing the way your dealer may order implements; perhaps only the higher end ones will be profitable?
