Here is a picture of the existing SCV's on my 955.

SCVs.JPG

From right to left, Flow Divider, Regenerative valve, Float valve, Rockshaft cylinder head. I have the SCV's off of another tractor and was wondering... can additional SCV's be stacked onto the current configuration (either between the Rockshaft head and float valve or between the flow divider and regen valve)? I realize that modifications to some of the hard lines would need to be made which reduces the practability of doing so, but in theory, would it work?

That may work. But, wouldn't you have some clearance issues with
the sheet metal that goes below the front of the seat? You would also
have to fabricate a control lever and be able to fit it and the linkage
into that tight area.

It is quite easy to get the diverter plug and set up a power beyond loop
for additional valves. Here is a diagram of the OEM kit. I only bought
the plug (#15) from JD, and used standard fittings and hoses to hook up a
2-spool AUX valve and backhoe.

What sheet metal?

Yes, that would have to be done. As stated, it's not very practical, was more of a "can it be done, in theory" question.

I'm assuming you just used an open-center 2-spool valve and Tee'd the return line back into the sump? Just where, exactly, does the plug get installed? Thanks...

I do not have a good picture and narrative of the Power Beyond upgrade
(tho I did 3 of them for the 955). There are several threads on this
subject on TBN, with nice pix. This was before I was doing those kinds of
posts.

I made a TnT kit for a guy who had one of my 955 refurbs. I used
a Prince 2-spool valve with PB, and a low press rtn that T-ed into the
return pipe on the back. You can see the fitting I welded into the OEM
pipe at the right in this photo. I installed the valve on the LEFT fender as
there was no room on the right.

Ok... I'll search a bit.

On that 2-spool valve you used, would you plug the PB or "out" port if you weren't needing to hook up anything beyond it? Or does it plumbed back into the system somewhere. Trying to wrap my head around this.

Thanks....

EDIT: Nevermind... I got it now..... One other question though. Of the two plugs on top of the rockshaft cylinder... which one is the high pressure supply and which one is the high pressure return?

I decided to go ahead and install a power beyond loop while I have the seat and seat brackets off and out of the way. I'm going to install the diverter plug and just run a hose from one port to the other for now. When the times comes that I need PB, all I will have to do is unhook one end of the hose and add another hose and SCV(s). I ordered up all the fittings and hose today... with shipping, it is a whopping $20. My dealer lists the diverter plug at $0.85

That's great. I think my local JD dealer sold me my plugs for over $2....that's
why I have my parts shipped now.

Since I don't recall the order of the IN and OUT ports, you can use 2 hoses
and start the tractor momentarily. You may want to put 1/2" QDs between
the 2 hoses so you can hook up an AUX valve and/or backhoe later.

I just don't understand JD on somethings. Like the SAE 6 O-ring to (whatever you want to use) 90° fittings for the two ports on the rockshaft cylinder head. You can pick these up anywhere they sell hydraulic adapters for around $2 to $3 each. JD will charge you over $16 each for them.

I think this Prince RD5200 valve is what jfkrug is showing on the picture....

The diverter plug for the x55 Deeres that we are talking about is for
the factory hydraulic block and SCVs on the tractor. It is a very small
hex plug that goes under a cap in the right side under the seat.

The Prince valves I have used have all been very well documented in the
literature from them and they do provide open/closed center plugs, as
well as Power Beyond "sleeves" for the valve in my photo. (I used to
buy lots of Prince valves, esp when they sold direct to the customer.)
