Hello, a little back ground, a family friend's daughter was staying with us while she attended a university here in Michigan, it was part of a master's program she was attending in Canada. She purchased a car while she was in Canada and drove it here. She finished her last semester and was preparing to go back to Canada, she loaded her car with all of her belongings, she decided to visit her parents back in China before she drove back to Canada.
Once she arrived in China, they closed the boarders due to Covid 19, she's been stuck in China ever since, her car has been in my driveway now for nearly two years. She's decided that she's not coming back and wants to sell the car. I've been the to the Michigan Secretary of State, the person I spoke to said, admittingly that she wasn't positive, it shouldn't be a problem because the car is already here and no import taxes needed to be paid.
Has anyone experienced bringing in a car or purchasing a car that came from Canada?
