We had a basement put under our house. It was a very interesting process. The house was not elevated, they supported the walls, put the forms up and pumped concrete into the walls up to the sill plate of the house. They used 2 skidsteers. Here is the beginning hole.

Care to share with us what something like that cost? How long ago did you have it done?

Thanks PeterT

Hi PeterT
Sure, it was 3 years ago. We would have had to repair at least one of the cinder block walls of the half cellar anyway, so we opted to have a full basement dug under the house. It is a little over 1100 sqft, cost $24,000, but that included 9ft ceilings, two escape windows, laying radiant heating piping in the slab and replacing concrete stairs and a small patio. We've been very happy with the results.

Of course, then we had to finish the basement, oh well, its only money /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the info. That is something my wife and I always wanted to have done, but never looked into it just always thought it would be too expensive, but that price doesn't sound that bad. Looks like they done a nice job.

Thanks PeterT
