Hi All,
I have just ticked over the 4,000hr mark with my older 3120e Tractor. I went into the local dealer today and sat on 3038E and it didn't seem to be as big as the older model. Has anyone got any spec on length and width of these 2 different models. While HP is still similar in both models, it seemed to me I would be looking at a current 4000 Series to have the same size frame of tractor.??? Is this so, or am I imagining things. The reason frame size is important, is that the old model hay forks let me get 3 layers of round bales into the shed - top row is right on edge of getting there. if new tractor is slightly smaller I might'nt reach third row. Cheers Ozg

Looking on tractordata.com

3120 wheelbase is 68" , length is 120", weight is 3000lb
3038e wb is 62.8", length is 115" weight is 2266lbs, so yes smaller
4044M wb not listed, length not listed, but weight is 3770lbs, so a lot bigger

I hope this helps. You could probably get more info grabbing brochures at the dealer.

Thank you Zebrafive, Dealership had a booklet of all current models, but that booklet only had features of each, not full Spesies. I had another look on I net and found the Spesies for the 3033R, which is one stage up from 3038, and it was very, very similar to my old 3120, which has been a wonderful tractor, good size for my farm and what I do. So I will now get quotes on that, instead of the 3038 I looked at today. I am getting to the very end of my farming life and whatever I buy this time will see me out. Your assistance was greatly appreciated.
