B2320, B2620, and B2920

Messick,

I understand that this is a new product and Kubota is probably trying their best to get them to dealers asap. But I still don't understand how I can go test drive one as I did on Saturday and not be able to take home a brochure to read more about them. All they had was a full line catalog that was not very specific. On top of that, there is nothing on the website. I don't understand how a tractor can beat a piece of paper to the dealer, that is all.
For those that are interested, I did get to spend some loader time on a 2620 and thought it was pretty nice. I have limited experience with CUTS so take my thoughts for what they are worth.

Likes

3 Speed Hydro was nice
Seemed well built as you would expect
Price
Very easy to take off loader
Dealer has been great
The size is really nice for me (small, but not SCUT size)

Dislikes

A one piece hood would have been nice and made things more accessible
No position control kind of stinks (as noted by others)
My foot kept getting hung up on the reverse pedal and it just didn't feel real comfortable
Brakes are on the same side as hydro so will be difficult to use

All in all, I really like it. I don't think the ergonomics are quite as friendly as the JD 2320 that I test drove but I don't think they are quite comparable products. The JD seemed a little larger and nicer, but I personally like the smaller size of the Kubota because of storage issues and it feels like it would get around things better for mowing. According to the prices I have got, the JD will also cost $2400 more. They are supposed to get the MMM in someday so that I can look at it. As long as there is nothing unforseen with that, I will probably go with the Kubota. I wish I had a picture of the smile on my face while sitting on it.

Sorry, I should have noted the the $2400 difference was between the Kubota B2320 and the JD 2320.

That is a meaningful price difference for me, though one certainly does buy many things for that money with the JD....... More loader lift capacity, choice of bucket sizes, QC loader bucket, position control, usable steering brakes, steering geometry that is more turf friendly, etc. I have been quoted $14,875 for a JD 2320 with loaded tires, weight box, and 200cx loader with 53" bucket....... What was the price you were quoted for the B2320? I certainly would be interested if it was considerably less than that, and where are you located... that makes a difference too.

Check your numbers there... the 200CX lifts 628 at bucket center, the Kubota LA304 lifts right about 670. Deere will almost never win a lift capacity comparison since they use the same loader on the subcompact and small compact tractors, rather than matching a specific loader to a specific size tractor. Kubota also has other buckets availabe, even though only one is on the spec sheet.

Someone mentioned the new tractors not being on the website, your absolutly right to be critical there... they take awhile to update it. We do also have problem with literature. They blame the print house. Its not unusual for us to have trouble reordering literature for even current production tractors. Kubota does things great when they are done in house, but we do run into problems with the companies they outsource to.

My mistake Neil, the literature I have said that the LA304 lifted 771 at the pivot pins, and 545 at the bucket edge to a full height of 74 inches. I have no figures for bucket center. The JD CX200 on a 2320 lifts 899 to a full height of 79 inches at the pins, and 628 at 500mm forward. I thought to get the capacities you are talking about one had to buy a B2620 with the LA364 loader.

I have never seen a larger bucket on the small B series, and never have seen any literature on them, so I assumed ( bad thing, I know) that they didn't exist.

Chuck,

I got a quote for JD 2320 with FEL and 62 in MMM for $16800 (not loaded tires). The Kubota B2320 with FEL and MMM was $14,400. Even with some of its faults, I thought the Kubota was a really nice machine for the price. I'm with you, $2400 is a diffence maker to me. The JD is nice (probably even a little nicer), but the Kubota just fits my needs and price a little better. I could not blame anyone for buying either.

I did go to a Kubota dealership today, and they did have some B20 series brochures available. I also got a couple of prices:
B2320 with LA304 loader = $13,900
B2620 with LA364 loader = $15,000
It also looks like dealers are starting to deal a bit more agressively on the remaining B7510, and B7610's.

So far, I have been unable to get my old scanner to work with my new computer, but I will tinker on it some more.
