Is frost depth a factor in the stone going under the new sills? Is the stone going on top of old stone work?

That's a nice job. It is good to see barns restored. In my area of Maine I see 1-2 barns a year collapse into the ground. Good to see them restored!

hello TC, we are putting the mortered stone right on top of the original stone foundation. It is below grade,but I don't know how much (good question). Not so sure it matters at this point. It was the wood that was rotting out, not stone sinking. Have not worked on it since the weather got cold again beginning of March. Maybe start it up again next week. Just had a mechanical thumb put on excavator for tree work up the hill. I'll be back.

The foundation work has started again. Beam cut out for entrance to this bay. Framing for windows comes next.
