Board Fence

At the other place I sold , WE had 4 plank board fence .

If You consider what it will cost to paint and maintain a board fence, You should look at the cost of vinyl.
Over the long run of several years there won't be that much difference except the labor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I solved that, I didn't paint mine. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif It's also why I installed an electric tape fence this past summer, almost no maint.

The total length of fence is 1000' +.
So you will need approx 3,000 feet of 1" x 6" x 16' or about 188 of them.

Sounds about right. This may not be feasable (sp?) right now, but we'll see. I'm going to talk to some of the local farmers around here and see what they have done. Not many have a complete board fence, but they may know where to get the best deal.

Thanks for all the suggestions,
Dave

When I priced the lumber. 1X6 cost more than 5/4X6.
Any other reason to not use 5/4X6?
This is where i'm going to buy my lumber. Fingerle Lumber
They still sell CCA.

If it's cheaper, I'd use the 5/4. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
