Well my toy has bin down for a couple of days now after it died plowing snow. So after trying anti gel even tho my fuel is winter blend then changing fuel filters to no avail I then removed the needle nose vise grips from the fuel line an there was the problem. No fuel flowing from the tank. So after I used a air compressor to blow back threw the tank I determind that there was something that was in the tank causing the problem. So without a shop manual an hour of tear down an having to break the plastic deck hight control knob off cause it was determined not to come off I removed the tank an ended up turning the tank upside down an shaking it 3 separate times with clean fuel I found these. image-994302555.jpg3 bees. An some dirt. I called my local dealer to replace some parts an told him what I have found they said they have had several in there shop an have found the same issue with the bees. Anyone else have this problem with bees? They said that Thebes like the sweet smell of the fuel an will go in your fuel containers if you don't keep the caps on. I have already purchased a Mr funnel to get away from this happening again.

Anyone else notice or have had the bolt that holds the HST/drive shaft on is always stripped like Paul showed in his video?

Weird! I wonder how the bees got in your tank? Thanks for the pics of the tear down. Following along here out of curiosity.

It sounds like you still have it apart. Check the sending unit, some people have reported that they get pretty rusty and will clog things up.

The fuel filler on BX's is pretty good size. I'm not surprised something can get in there when your back is turned. I've tried to get in the habit always capping it back off right away. There have been times I've left it open a minute while filling it up while I put the fuel can away. I'm not sure the opening isn't big enough for a bird to get in there and build a nest.

Not sure as I never just dump the fuel in from the can. I either fuel it from the diesel pump when I'm on my way to a small job or since it was new I always used one of those 2 D cell battery powered pumps that are for filling up kerosene heaters an I wouldn't think those bees would go threw the small junky pumps.

Yes it's still apart awaiting parts. I'll pull the sending unit apart tonight an see if its all rusty also. I do admit I leave the fuel cap off while I go to the garage an get the pump an cans to fill it up. That might be when the get in.

I'm going to order one of these an modify the screen to fit the opening of my tank. <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/kubota-owning-operating/409363-bx-25-clogged-fuel-tank-image-1904437549-jpg"/>
Good idea.

Your own diesel pump or a commercial establishment?

I can see bees nesting in the nozzle of a fuel pump if it has not been used in quite some time. The next unlucky guy to come along not only gets the bees in the tank but a collection of wax, pollen, honey, youngins, and other hive materials. So, while the bee carcases alone may not be enough to clog the fuel filter, the other stuff is surely enough to gum up some part of the works.

No not my own I stop at the local gas station as they have both auto diesel an off road fuel. I do a lot of jobs for a contractor that works around a place called Indian lake putting in small sea walls docks and digging out an replacing basement step walls. I get to do all the digging as the bx25 can get through the fence gates that most of the homes have an it doesn't mess up the lawns driving across them. He likes that my machine doesn't leak any fluids that could be blamed for contaminating the lake water as they are real picky about that issue when working around the water.
