If it is a true power shift, then it is not a hydrastatic drive. It just has a hydraulic actuated clutch on a gear type tranny. Shift to neutral and tow it. THe hydrastatic power steering will turn the wheels a little at a time without the engine running, you just need to turn the steering wheel fast and it will pump some oil to the steering cylinder. I have never seen a tractor wheels turn to the side like was mentioned in one post when towing forward. I never tried to tow one backward, but it should be no difference.

Most vehicles have a little bit of castor built into the steering geometry as it tends to keep the wheels pointed straight ahead as you go down the road. The same geometry will tend to let them flop to the side in reverse. As long as they are straight you don't notice it, but once they start to turn they wanna go to full stop....
