Sorry guys but I wasn't finding an answer. The "spider" universal joint yoke located between the flywheel & hydraulic pump has 4 bolts to the flywheel. I removed them & then slid the shaft back & forth about 1". After realizing that that wasn't doing me any good I put 2 of the bolts back in & started the hammer pounding trick on the caps. An hour later & I've gotten nearly nowhere. A slow process of back & forth & they are no closer to coming out. Tomorrow maybe the torch? Will I have to move the entire engine back to make room for it to slide off the splined shaft at the hydro pump? I really do hate everything about this machine.

So I torched out the cross u joint this morning but there still isn't enough room to pull it straight off the spline. What's easier to move, the engine or hydraulic pump assembly unit? If i remove just the flywheel will that gain me enough room to pull the yoke off?
