This photo is chain on D-Ring mounted on front frame below engine. One on each side. You could also chain around front guard or to hook and clevis on front guard.

This is rear chain wrapped around lower ROPS mount. It didn't scratch this paint, but I will use a peice of old fire hose on chain next time. Also will run hook around other way so chain doesn't put as much pressure on the tire.

Photo is of tractor on trailer. I am going to weld more D-Rings on trailer so I don't have to use stake pockets. Also note chain through FEL tube. SIX chains and ratchets total.

I removed bucket so backhoe would be on trailer and not hang off. Easy to do with Quick-Tach. Weight may have been a little forward of ideal, but it towed rock solid.

At the risk of getting in another touchy topic, I decided to post a photo of my truck also. It is a 2002 Ford F-150 FX4 with the 5.4 engine, automatic transmission and 3.55 limited slip rear end.

I have Firestone Air Springs and Reese 1200 lb Weight Distributing Dual Cam Hitch. I also tow my travel trailer and several smaller trailers.

Still making fine ajustments, but this first trip I went 180 miles round trip and it towed great. I could feel the weight but it moved around much less than my travel trailer.

Thanks for all the replies, guys! I like the idea of hooks/D-Rings on the front chassis, and will probably go that route. Great ideas there! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Jay
