I am considering buying a 3045 Century with a model 50HL Front End Loader. The dealer asking price is $18,950. I have not tried to negotiate yet but I am wondering if this is a good price. The dealer is in middle Tennessee. Also any comments on the reliability of these tractors and availability of parts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just bought a 3035 end of June and paid $16,800 w/c50 FEL. I was told the 3045 would cost another $2500. Not sure how much more the HL looader will add. Based on this I would say you are getting a good deal.

I've put around 20 hours on mine so far and other than some newbie concerns and questions really like the machine.

Not a Century but for the Branson 4720 w/BL20a loader $17,990.00. Newer model tractor and 2+ more hp. BL20a loader not quite as robust as Century loader, but close. Go to the following link:

Fellow is in Tenn. also.

When I was looking at the Century 3045 with the c-50HL loader the price was $18,500 with R4 tires and aux remotes. This was 6 months ago. The HL loader is worth the extra money. I cannot say enough good things about it. Compare its specs to any other loader of any other color (at their higher prices /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

Kinda off subject but was wondering this. The 4720 is rated at 47 hp, is this gross hp or net hp. I have not been able to find any information on the new Century C47 or the new Branson 4720 stating rather it is the gross or net horsepower at 47.
The Century 3045 is advertised as a 45 hp tractor. But it is rated at 48 gross hp and 45 net hp.

The C47 is rated at 47 ghp and 40 pto horsepower by American Jawa spec. sheets. They have the spec. sheets out in our area on all of the C series tractors.

Actually, those ratings are for the Yanmar engine. The Cummins "A" series A2300 is 50 gross horsepower, 47 net horse power and would guess about 42 pto horsepower. None of these values are listed on Jawa/Century site.

Thanks to all that have replied. I have found quite a price difference from 3 different dealers all within 100 miles of each other. One dealer in Middle TN quoted $18950.00. Another dealer in northern middle TN quoted $21000.00 for the same setup. A dealer in southern KY quoted $17500.00. (with Industrial Tires- I asked for Ag tires for my original quote) Obviously it pays to shop around. I will keep shopping but I am thinking the $17500.00 is probably going to be the low quote. I plan on paying cash so I am hoping the dealer that quoted $18950 will get me close to the low quote since he is within 20 miles of my home and the other is close to 100 miles away.

$17,500 is less than dealer invoice, and invoice does not include freight costs to the dealer. If the dealer is willing to sell it for that, you should buy it. Let him figure out later how much he lost. Maybe he can make it up in volume /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Dave,

Thanks for the info. I thought $17500 sounded a little low as I have checked with other dealers in other states also. The majority of the quotes I received were from $18500 - $19500 but again these were from dealers that were a few hundred miles from my home. He may have not understood what I was asking.

The American Jawa specs are correct (47 gross hp)). The Cummins "A" series specs are rated at a higher RPM.
