Cub Cadet 1572 Fill me in

I used to own a 1772 and a 1782 SGT ,and several 3000 series. Assuming the 1572 is the predecessor to the 1772, and a SGT, I think they are built a bit heavier duty than the 3000's. I had a KW loader on my 1782, and it was very capable of lifting 500 lbs. The drawbacks are no 4wd, and the 3000's (some) have the differential rear lock, which is nice. The weight might be close, but my SGT's had plastic hood and side panels.
The rear PTO and 3-pt were optional. I had them both and they worked fine. Warning though....cat "0" implements are harder to find and more pricey than Cat '1" . Good luck.

I think I am mainly going to use this for mowing and deep snow removal if I can find a blower for it.

If anyone know what blowers will work on this let me know.

Thanks

I believe a 451 and possibly the 551.....the 551 is a better blower.

Check out this ebay listing.

Cub Cadet 451 2 Stage Snow Blower fits 1864 1863 1782 - eBay (item 300404282948 end time Mar-14-10 08:28:31 PDT)

It says something about needing and adapter kit. Do you know anything about this, or how to get one?

Under the cub cadet parts website they have the blower number as 450 for a 1572 cub.

So it looks like others will fit is just a matter of finding the right adapter kit?

Thanks

For that price I'd wait for a 551, making sure the adapter kit would work on it as well. I'm not very familiar with the adapter kits.....

I don't think the 451/551 blowers would be the correct blower for a 1772. I think the proper blower is the 450. the difference is in the gearing. MTD used 2 different sized pto pulleys on their tractors and I don't think they changed to the larger pulley until the Cyclops series. If you use a 451 blower, I think the blower will run too slow.

AJ

Acually I just checked, and the 450 is listed as the correct blower.

Yes, the 450 is the correct blower for the 1572. I think the adapter kit has the correctly geared pulleys to run the 451 and possibly the 551.......

It looks like there are two types of 450's.

Here is one.

The other one a saw was a yellow one. Looks like it came off a newer cub.

Scout that is incorrect. All the adaptor package is, is the drop links to lower the blower and the proper lift rod/tube. A SGT sits higher than a GT so it must be lowered to work. The difference in the 450 and the 451 is the gearing in the gear box. I have heard of people taking a 451 and swaping the gear set to make it a 450 though.

So the 450 is the blower that will fit for sure.

What are the other blowers that will work with an adapter kit? If the only difference is the brackets I could make those myself.

Thanks
