Deere 950 - How to remove build up from tractor radiator coils

Bmaverick,

Thanks for the post. The Yanmar engine is a sweet little engine.

I wondered if anyone had ever tried distilled vinegar on a tractor radiator and if it was safe to use. A few questions come to mind as I read your post.:

What is the 3T90 you refer to?
Do you start the engine and run it to normal temp or just flush it without running the tractor?
How long do you let the solution sit before draining?
Do you remove any hoses? (there is a drain plumbed at the bottom but the hose is very small).

The drain port at the bottom of the radiator and the drain hose are so small, it makes me wonder if it would get plugged up...
3T90 is the engine model.

Much of the 50 Series John Deere machines are made from automotive JIS parts found in the 1970s Datsuns (Nissan today). You don't have to pay JD mark up when the local autoparts store has the parts you need.

Your machine and mine came off the same Yanmar assembly line in Japan. Built to JIS standards and not SAE.

I would use 1 cup of baking soda for every gallon
of water drain radiator and fill with this solution
run tractor until warm then drain and repeat then
flush with distilled water this should clean out your
radiator or repeat until clean as you want it. Baking
soda is a very good cleaner
