i prefer to take it oil recycling so that it goes back into the oil food chain. Just my :2cents:

It came from the Ground, why not put it back there?

BTW - I did do that, 40 years ago...

I hear that, and that's always a good option.
But for the sake of arguments, when it's dumped in with used dirty engine oil, it simply looks like used, dirty engine oil.
Nobody would have a cause to ask what it is.

The one in Clallam County (Port Angeles) also takes used oil filters.
I usually build-up a certain amount of them in a box, then take them there.
-No more mess in the garbage.

can it just be filtered and reused? seems like a tremendous waste to me. Although I've been known to keep a few gallons and use it for cutting oil on the drill press and in the oil can for various uses.

I just did a horrible (and highly elusive) hydraulic repair job. Man, a lot of oil got away on me. At $100.00 / pail! Sometimes the harder you try to be responsible, the worse it gets! Finally, you just say F$%$% it!
