Anybody got a good DIY on a valve adjustment on a Kubota 3 cylinder. I have a 21.5 hp diesel in my Hustler Zero turn that has a lot of clatter and I have never adjusted the valves.

What do you mean "good DIY on a valve adjustment"?
I pretty much just removed a few hoses in the way, removed the glow plugs to make turning the engine easy, and removed the valve cover. It had a rubber gasket which my manual said was re-usable, but I bought a new one anyhow.
Took my measurements and made my adjustments on each valve where tehy were suppose to be measured.

When (HR wise) is it recommended to check or adjust the valves on these engines?

I would go by the recommendations of the manufacturer.

Thank you for mentioning that you remove the glow plugs to relieve the compression. I know how to do valve adjustments, but I never did a diesel and no spark plugs to take out. I couldn't find them :)
