Harry C,

You don't work with iso's in an aerosol spray form do you? The danger goes up as the particle size goes down. A gallon bucket sized particle is not as dangerous as a 35micron diameter particle. You put a gallon can of iso's in a room of people for 15 min and maybe a few get sick. You spray that same gallon into the same room with a paint gun and they all get sick or worse. Probably much worse....

You can get a 3m respirator for under 30 bucks at paint and body supply stores

I like to paint a used implement when I buy it and have been thinking of using the Valspar "Enamel Hardener" from TSC. I am not sure if it is safe or not even though I have a good paint respirator.
The ingredients listed in the can are "Aliphatic Polyisocyanate and Isophorone Diisocyanate" along with Naptha and N-Butyl Acetate.
The can mentions you MUST use a good paint respirator but you MAY also use a supplied-air system.
Can anyone help understanding this? I paint outside.

I use the stuff...WITHOUT a mask...but I ALWAYS am spraying outside...:D. No way Id use it in a confined space ( indoors) without a proper mack.
