A sudden stop with loud clang appears to have been caused by a loose bolt in the engine shattering a rod. Told I need a new engine after 300 hours.
Anyone with an idea what that may cost from my dealer?:

how old is it? There is a 2 year warrantee on it. Otherwise your dealer could put some pressure on Kubota to get support for you.

Just paid it off (five years), so warranty is out. Apparently when they took the engine apart they found a "loose bolt" that may have caused the failure. Yes, the dealer did mention that they would discuss it with Kubota but I am figuring on the worst case scenario where I am faced with buying a new engine. The machine had been well maintained.

Kubota has made me wonder at times on both sides when we ask. Sometimes I feel they go further then they should and some times I am disappointed. They do normally always help out when things are warranted.
