farmall C rear diffy/trans/pto fill/check/drain

anyone got the locations of the fill and drain and check plugs.

I hear it's a common sump / 19 qts.

mine has a pto.. used to have a belt pulley, but has been blanked off.

any fill or check for the pto?

IIRC the PTO is splash lubed from the rear frame (rear axle center section). Parts diagram looks like the PTO output shaft and gears would be below the static level of the common sump oil. Common sump fill is a female square bore 3/4" or 1" pipe plug near the transmission shifter and level plug is behind one of the rear axle housings slightly above the centerline of the axle shaft. probably a 1/4" or 3/8" pipe plug.

I have the reprint manuals.. but the 'lubrication' section is slim pickins. I&T aftermarket manual is of almost no help whatsoever.. luckilly it was cheap..

steep learning curve on these non fords..

Check plug is on the right side, as previously posted, behind the axle housing.

yep.. i see the drain plug is right above the drawbar, and fill is in the front left of the op platform, with level check ontherightrearof the gear case kinda near the pto level.
