Just wanted to "thanks" those who responded to this request here and in the similar thread in another post.
Special thanks to SESS and the gang at Southern Equipment (Center Hill, Fl). They not only helped diagnose the problem ... they fixed it!
After a friendly and informative conversation on the phone with Darrell, we were sure it was a burned clutch.
We took the tractor to his shop late on a Friday. He apologized that it was too late in the day for him to do it that day (it was our fault we took it so late).
He called Monday afternoon to say it was ready. WOW! That was fast.
He not only replaced the clutch, he found a couple other somewhat critical problems and was able to take care of those also. His work was efficient, clean, quick and his charges were reasonable.
The tractor now is as strong, or stronger, than it was before. They did a great job!
We have found a new tractor service facility to take our business to.
We need more dealers/shops like Southern Equipment
