Fire Ant observation

I did not know that Fire Ants had any natural enemys (besides us and some imported fly) but I have seen many Pharaoh ant (aka sugar ant) beds with many Fire Ant remmants piled up around them. It looks like the Fire Ants had their hats handed to them. Here is some Photos.

Interesting...go Pharaoh! i HATE fire ants! Have you tested the therory? Like shoveled some fire ants on the pharaoh's beds? I don't have fire ants at my place in TN.......yet

Yes and no, I did throw some Fire Ants onto one bed and they were attacked but not killed. I think maybe the Fire Ants initiate an all out attack since they are the aggresive ones of the spiecies then the Pharaoh ants see an actual threat then go all out.
I'm just glad to see some help with this problem.

Yes each other more then anything.

You want to have some fun with Fire Ants? Find one ant hill and then find another, take a shovel and get some from one hill and put them on the other hill... Talk about all out war! And we thought us humans had a fighting problem.
