While I was using a hand pump to top up the hydraulic tank after replacing some hoses, the metal tip jumped out of the tube and into the tank. If memory serves, the tip is metal, about five inches long with a bend in it and is maybe three eights of an inch in diameter. Do I need to find a way to fish that thing out or can I work with it in the tank? I really don't want to take a chance on messing up the hydraulics...

Appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks, Yupitspa

welcome to TBN
I'd try to remove it if you can...maybe a magnet on the end of a flexible handle??
It would help if you had a photo and gave details of device the tank is on.

Thanks -- I'll try that. The tank is in the side of an old Case 580ck backhoe. I don't have any photos of the metal tip.
