Walking past the Ventrac today, I noticed the hydraulic hose for the front attachment was touching the front right tire even though it was in the "hose keeper." I currently have the leaf blower attachment connected. So I tried to reposition the hose when I found the hose keeper kept moving back and forth. That is when I noticed the huge crack!
Only two 3/8" bolts hold it on. I could not see any damage to it other than the crack, so I don't believe I hit it against anything. Still thinking gremlins now.
I've attached photos showing the length of the crack, before sanding off the powder coat.
Mig welded what I called 10 gauge steel with .030 wire. Painted. Returned to service.
