I bought a 4610SU a few years back. It has been very hard to get into gear without grinding the gears, there was a nail used as a clevis pin on the linkage, I figured the sloppiness in that connection was causing the issue. I replaced the nail with a proper size clevis pin, but it is still impossible to put the tractor in gear without grinding.

Is there some type of clutch adjustment other that taking up all the slop in the linkage? Is this adjustment internal?

Other than the clevis slop, there pedal should be adjusted via this clevis so that there is approximately 1 to 1.25" of pedal freeplay. If it still grinds after adjusting, then it needs a new clutch.

I think I have already adjusted the freeplay properly, so new clutch it is I guess.
