While working on my Tractor recently (1958 601 Workmaster gas powered) I noticed what looked like a sending unit for a fuel guage in the top of the tank. There is no guage in the dash or any place to mount one. I have oil pressure, amps and RPM guages. Was this an option? Can anyone help explain this for me. It would definitely be nice to have a fuel guage. Thanks

Had a '58 Ford 841D which also had a sender with no gauge or place for one? I marked a paint stirring stick to measure tank level, 5/8" per gallon as I recall. MikeD74T

sure there is a place for one.

01 units had temp, oil and FUEL, not amps.. notice a charge indicator lamp in the dash? that was your 'amp' gauge.

lamp on.. discharge... lamp off.. charge..

00 units and previous had a amp gauge.
