On YouTube you can find excellent videos on diesel generator maintenance.
Here is a video on the bleeding of the fuel line: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQLkLtUdgh4&feature=related"]Bleeding Air / Yanmar Diesel / Aurora Generator - YouTube[/ame] .
This is the first thing you have to do with a new diesel generator bar filling fuel and engine oil.:ashamed:

Here is another video illustrating the removal, cleaning and mounting the oil filter: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ0p8hVF7D4&feature=related"]Low Oil Pressure and The Oil Filter - YouTube[/ame] .
You are advised to do this often especially during break-in.

A good supply for spare parts to clone diesel generators in the US is Aurora Generators Inc. PARTS: Diesel Engines - Diesel Generators . Unfortunately they only ship to Canada and USA :( . You can always search Ebay for parts.
The Discount Generator Store in United Kingdom at Unit 17 Arden Business Centre, Arden Road, Alcester, B49 6HW UK have a lot of parts like filters and more.

There is an excellent introduction to the Maintenance and Break-in of a clone diesel generator in TBN by Rayko  at http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ra-silent-diesel-generator-6.html#post2646605 . I only wish that I had seen it before the start-up of my own generator!
It is based on the Aurora generator but I think it is valid for all clones. As to the problem of finding a replacement for the o-ring on the oil-filter. That is because the size is metric standard and not US standard. I can se that you are approaching the metric standard inch by inch!:D

Anders,
Thank you so much for posting these videos....I plan on buying one of the Auroras in March.Do you feel that the OE battery is adequate? I guess I should buy a few oil filters and what???? air cleaners? fuel filters? other?
Thanks:confused2:

I think an air cooled diesel forum would be great.

A lot of guys in the two wheel tractor forum have air cooled diesels.

Boeing,
I support Rayko's view http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ra-silent-diesel-generator-6.html#post2625489 that the battery that comes with the generator is a bit on the small side especially when it is cold. If the generator is not used very often you need to have a trickle charger connected. I have a small solar panel connected.
The oil filter can be cleaned but you need an extra, as it can be easily damaged, plus extra o-rings. The fuel filter can be changed at the same time as the air filter but the interval depends on your environment. To change at least once a year is sensible.
