Hi All, just wondered where folk are putting jacks under the front axle, i note that there is a thin (1/2") cast spine that runs right along the underside of axle housing, so i guess that as long as u put a bit of wood under that spine to spread load theres no harm ?? cheers OG

Your tractor should have a front weight bracket. If so, that's where I suggest you place your jack.

I just use the loader to raise the front end off the ground. Then put a jack stand on either side and let it back down.
If you don't have a loader, you jack one side and put a jack stand on it and raise the other side and do the same. That might work.

thanxs all - i use f/l to lift it up, just didn't like the weight sitting on that narro spine so put a bit of packing each side and flat timber under the lot so weight would sit more evenly - other machines i've had have a flat spot somewhere there abouts for jack - no doubt metal stronger generally these days. cheers Og
