Tractor
Just sold 1958 Ford 541. In market for replacement
I am considering purchase of a tractor. Seller says front tires point in only when reversing. It's a 1975 Ford 532 Industrial with a loader. Anyone have thoughts on how to start diagnosing and repair? Should I consider purchase? Price is great and I am happy to turn a wrench on it.

Perhaps a little more description. You don't see any linkage slop and/or you don't have or have very little any steering wheel play?

Sounds like something in the steering. Like tie rod ends or drag link ends. Either are available in the $20-$30 range. If it's a sheared keyway in a spindle, those are about $250 each. My guess would be the tie rod ends and drag link ends. Move the steering wheel back and forth and watch the ends for movement. They have ball joints and wear. Especially with a loader.
