Frost plug heater troubles

If had wing type toggle bolt it will not drive out since has shoulder on to allow toggle to tighten up. You may have to drill a couple holes in it and pry it out.

I don't know, but could it be heated with a small torch to loosen it enough that a long punch and pry method might work?

New to forum. I'm trying to replace a frost plug heater on a satoh buck. It is a Katz brand. Unable to remove old one from block, any tips or tricks? Missing in pic is plastic cover and wiring. View attachment 818081

Probably gonna have to work at it by driving a flat screwdriver into the fitting so it can be distorted and ripped out.

I thought 'freeze plug' was a misnomer. I thought it was actually used in the casting process, I stand to be corrected tho.

Some other freeeze plugs in there only 1/2 diameter. I didn't know if this was specifically for a block heater.

For installing a freeze plug we used a socket to tap them in. I have only seen block heaters that have threads to hold them in.

Cold chisel & punch the sides inwards.

I have seen threaded "freeze" plugs, as well as threaded plugs in the water jackets.
