My gc2300 didn’t shut down after mowing last weekend. Searching threads helped me track down my issue. Checked the fuel solenoid and the fuel relay both were ok. I found completely corroded and disintegrated fuse block. I was able to find an almost perfect replacement on Amazon for less than $10. The tractor has 2 power feeds to the fuse block, same as the one I found. The replacement also leaves me with 2 spare circuits.

dang. so it was providing fuel pump power even with key off?

Yes would continue to run. The fuel shut down fuse was on the bad end of the fuse block.

heh heh I bet that messed with your mind :)
seems no harm really done and nobody hurt, thats what matters.

Try putting a little dielectric grease on fuse blades before inserting, it will keep moisture and oxygen out of connection and probably prevent most corrosion for a long time (if not forever) ....

Fuel shutdown solenoid is energized for about 8 seconds (timed circuit) after key is moved to off position... No voltage from fuse through switch means no solenoid shut down sequence energised.......

Wow, nice catch, good (simple, cheap) fix! I'll be looking at my fuse block...

Pretty dusty, a little discoloration, but no strong signs of overheating. Think it's OK but I'll keep an eye on it.

Had a similar situation on my '82 Yamaha Virago 750 -- the molex plug on the charging circuit was totally nasty inside (looked a lot like your fuse block); found it while troubleshooting why the battery popped (twice!) over a 4-year period. Apparently the feedback circuit from the regulator crapped out and was intermittently overcharging the battery big time. Ka-POW!!

I thought maybe was something like that, meant to browse the service manual for my gc2400 yesterday to verify but life got in the way
