Drew,
You will be in my prayers regularly now. May you be restoed to full health and function, and without pain.
I too agree, the sitting around doing nothing is the hardest part...
God Bless,
David
thanks David. I've had a bad back/really bad arthritis for a long time and this operation is not a surprise. I just expected my back to give out first, which it has done before, and not my neck. Yes, I sure know what a Pain In The Neck means....
Sure reminds me I'm alive, and I do my best to just keep on trucking.
But oh will it be nice if/when this pain goes away. I don't like drugs, they make you fuzzy and sleepy,
and if I took enough to get rid of the pain, which I likely could, I'd be sitting in front of this pc nodding off.
Nope.
Every day is an opportunity. And since my favorite saying is every day is an opportunity for kindness, well
I'll be looking for my opportunities. I've always found the greatest joy is in giving, not receiving, and if I can focus on giving
and try to compartmentalize the pain, I can ignore it as much as possible.
We all have a limited number of days on this Earth. Our last one may be tomorrow. Make today count. And David, you should go out and find
a way to have some fun today. something just for yourself and where you won't think about your separation. you are getting frustrated trying to give to unappreciative people, which loved ones should not be..., maybe cool it for a bit and work on your own mental balance. Your life is not just your marriage and your kids, though it sure seems like they are consuming all your mental energy now. And I'm sure they are the most important things in your life. But they aren't everything. I hope you find some inner peace and go forward successfully. And I of course wish the same for your family.
I'm uncomfortable giving this kind of advice online, but since it basically applies to all of us, well, I'll get off my philosophical soapbox and get my jeans on and get to work. Those fields won't mow themselves....
Peace. Drew
