Hi, young farmer here, first generation farmer, too. My wife and I own a 6-acre farm that we live on and rent out in Ohio, and we own a 10-acre farm in Kentucky, that we rent out. We needed a better tractor than the old B so we sold it and signed on a RK24H with loader and belly mower. Anybody with tips and tricks? I've already moved 10+ yards of horse manure and graded a neighbor's driveway (for enough coin to cover 2 payments) and the thing is so small that it fits in my deckover dump trailer. It was cheaper than a puny 1023E and BX23. It has a 2000 hour warranty ON EVERY PART. It punches above it's weight and lifts way more than a JD or Kubota or whatever in the same class. Next step is to fabricate a cab from the ROPS to the front of the floorboard. Any ideas? I'm thinking A-arms to support Plexiglass in a 2x2 frame.

i have a 49 B - grew up on it, first tractor i ever drove at 6 for others to load hay on wagon i could stand on the brakes and pull/push the hand clutch as needed, had to drive it standing up - u will miss it...........i have it and my great uncles 1944A - they have character/nostalgia and torque out the wazoo. They are long surpassed for their usability with modern hydraulics but very reliable and capable for what they were designed for.

Enjoy the new one !!! I have modern stuff and love it but nothing like taking the grand kids a ride on the old school stuff.

I miss the JD everyday but the tricycle front-end would be the death of me. Respect to you! 6 years old and using the hand clutch? You were a buff kiddo!

well my dad plopped me onto the platform, said heres the clutch, DONT jerk the wagon when you take off and spill the hay!!!! im like WHAT i was petrified so it was but first gear at an idle didnt jerk much lol - i remember having to grab with both hands onto the steering wheel and use my weight and strength of arms/legs on both pedals to stop it when they said STOP!!!! it took both hands to pop the clutch back and snap it in to engage but at that speed i fortunately didnt have too do much it was a flat hay field and in 1st gear at not much more than an idle it was very slow
