Looks like its might be something like a t-bar lift for skiing, or for pulling an ice shack out on the ice.

LOL, pitching machine, I thought the same at the end of the day today.

Yes, a rope tow for getting kids and their tubes and sleds to the top of the hill. I shouldn't have posted the picture with the rope, made it to easy.

Yes, the final piece will be setting up a way to keep the rope in the center of the drive wheel along with the pulley at the bottom of the hill and braiding the rope into a continuous loop, which I understand can be tedious.

I've see guys use verticle pvc to guide, like a winch, I've seen holes like the idea of the 2x4, which is about as simple as you can get (I've not seen the 2x4, that is a GREAT idea). I've also seen pulleys, which is the way I was leaning until the 2x4 idea.

That is the last bit to sort out, along with stiffening the bucket up a bit, I had to cut a lot out to fit everything and now it has some flex.

I like the idea of a guide hole for the rope going in and out, just need to sort out a way to attach to the bucket.

I hope this thing works, climbing up the hill is tough for the little ones.

Thanks for the replies.

Joel
