This is the latest score in the 1st inning of the NH Haybine 479 vs. Groundhogs near Punxsutawney, Pa.

They look more like a "Groundhog Pizza" than a Groundhog.

Anyone have the same experience. Wow...what a mess!!!

I cut my hay with an old sicklebar mower, and happily, that has never happened to me. But when I'm cutting hay, or brush hogging my pastures, all sorts of critters come running out of the grass, including fawns!! And I sure hope I never go over one of them!!!

Most farmers hit a fawn a year here. The mama doe tells em to stay put and they don't move until the mower hits em. Not pretty stuff.

baby rabbits are bad to stay put and I manage to scalp a few each year with the bushhog.

As a kid I pulled a few snakes from bales of hay and the occasional bunny parts.
