I'm in need of some help on a project. I've been asked to find statistics on how the typical American spends their day. It needs to breakdown the 24 hour day into hours/minutes spent sleeping, working, etc.

I've tried Google, AskJeeves and several other search engines but can't seem to find the right combination of terms to find the info needed.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Wake up
2. Eat some sort of breakfast
3. Go to work
4. Come home from work
5. Do work around the house
6. Make and eat dinner
7. Do some more work around the house
8. Watch a little T.V
9. Go to sleep

Repeat steps 1 through 9 from Monday to Friday, On Sat/Sun repeat steps 1,2,5,6,7,8 and nine. Possible Church on Sunday morning.

You're welcome /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I did find a couple of these, they all sight the same government study (ATUS). Some figures are skewed (ex: average time spent working is 3.7 hrs) because less than 50% of participants responded on the "diary day" and the study points out that it included 15 year olds where many states don't allow teens to "work" until they are 16.

It is the best info so far.

Thanks again for taking the time to look for me.
