I tend to put up engines with the carb emptied if i am sure I won't use them for a while.

Me too. Waterpump, generator, and other small infrequently used small engines are run dry before they are put away. Just seems to work better that way.

on my pressure washer I run some eco safe af thru the pump right before I put it up. not so much for the freeze protection ( oh.. yeah.. florida might get a few days of it.. but.. ) but more for the corrosion protection.. etc..
