Hydraulic PSI and hoses....please explain this

/ Hydraulic PSI and hoses....please explain this #11
I work with hydraulic hose from time to time at my job. We had to replace the hoses on a customers hydro bush hog a few times.

We found the 4 braid hose listed lasted longer than the 2 braid variety mostly due to the fittings that particular hose brand used. The hose always broke near the fitting.

I should put in a disclaimer that any hyd hose spec'd for the pressure should work just fine. Only up the braid count (and expense) if you have problems bursting them near the fittings.

Scott, Were the hoses flexing near the fittings? Thats usually what causes them to break there - the bend concentrates at the flex to ridgid transition. It might help to strain relieve the hose to a fixed point that moves with the fitting.
