Last year I bought a b3300su with a bh 76 backhoe and a 3 pt hitch. Yesterday took the backhoe off and was going to put on the 3 pt hitch BUT the frame that the backhoe connects to is blocking me from attaching the bracket of the check chain to the pin (lower link). Maybe I am missing something but I can't figure a way to get the rod (pin - lower link) to slide over far enough to allow the bracket for the check chain to slide onto the pin (because the frame is blocking it from sliding over far enough).
Now, if the frame for the backhoe wasn't there, there would be no problem sliding the pin over as it would slide into the cavity of the rear wheel.
Am I missing something or is this one of those secrets that everyone knows (except me)?
Right now, I see the only solution is to unbolt the frame from one side (looks like a major task) and slide the pin over, hook everything up and put the bracket back on. Not very handy if that is the case. Of course if this is the solution, I would just get a 1.25 hole drilled in the frame so that I could slide the pin through it.
I'd appreciate any help on this matter.
