does anyone know what type of tread sealant to use when installing a block heater. I have the Kubota block heater that threads into the freeze plug and want to use the correct sealant. This is on a Kubota B2320. Thanks in advance!

Rather than sealant I believe my dealer uses thread tape

sandyc: Regular Teflon tape? I was afraid that may not hold up to the heat. But may give it a try. thanks!

IIRC Teflon is rated to ~ 400 F

I much prefer pipe dope, any type will be fine, IMO.
I used what I had on-hand. I think it was yellow. :p

I used a thick Teflon tape when I put a block heater in my 2920. On my new to me 3350 I had the dealer install it. They used a he yellow Teflon tape...I think .

Thanks everyone for the help. I installed the BH tonight and ran tractor afterwards. Everything seems good to go without leaks. You all ROCK!!!
