Messick’s guy explains it pretty well. I have a new tractor coming before year end (it is at dealer being prepped) for same price, discount, and 60 month zero % it was at beginning of the year. Implements built in America have surcharges, but that means I added 3 implements sized for my L6060 in the trade as 2 were worth more on trade, after our tractor discount was finalized, than I paid for them in the past 5 years. The equipment manufacturer’s numbers tell the story. In 2019. All tractor classes sold more than ever. Despite the pandemic, all classes except self-propelled combines sold more in 2020 than in 2019. Through November of this year, sales have blown 2020 out of the water. Customers are buying more than ever. During football yesterday, John Deere and Kubota still advertising, still offering 0% for 5 years. I am not sure why, but I suspect they have customers now used to 0%, and since they can get money at a very low rate, why not? I just got hearing aids the same way. Until interest rates climb, why change and upset customers? It’s been that way since the Great Recession starting in 2008.
